Blot the stain.

Use a white cloth to blot the coffee, moving from the outside to the middle of the stain to prevent the spill from spreading. Make sure you don’t rub the carpet, as this could get the liquid trapped in the fibers. Once you’ve gotten most of it up, use cold water to pour over the stain and blot again to dilute it.
Apply a cleaning solution.
While you can use a carpet stain remover at this point, you could also make your own solution. Mix one tablespoon of liquid dish soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water.
