Goodwood announces 2018 Festival of Speed and Revival dates

Goodwood has confirmed the dates for the 2018 Festival of Speed and Revival. The action-packed Festival of Speed will take place from July 12-15, with the extravaganza of historic racing and period clothing that is the Revival happening from September 7-9.

Every year, Goodwood attempts to avoid a clash with the Formula One calendar so that the great and the good of motorsport's premier category can attend. In 2017, the career of former F1 "ringmaster" Bernie Ecclestone was celebrated, along with “Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Game-Changers”, the racing machines that were so fast, powerful, expensive or complicated that the rules had to be changed to rein them in.

Next year’s Festival of Speed will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the sell-out event, centred on a 1.16-mile hillclimb course in the grounds of Goodwood House. To mark the Silver Jubilee, the Duke of Richmond will choose his top 25 moments from the festival's history.

As well as the action on the hillclimb, there will be the usual panoply of classic cars, motorcycles and rally machinery, along with current and past star drivers and riders. Tickets for the prestigious events are now available from the Goodwood website.

The next Goodwood event is the 76th Members’ Meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit on March 18 and 19, featuring superb historic racing as well as high-speed demonstrations. It will include celebrations of 20 years of the Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC), for whose members it was revived as a curtain-raiser to the motorsport season.
