The TV chef showed losses of over £1 million when his accounts were made public this week.

The firm names Kavalake includes all of his eateries across the world – including 14 in London – and despite the loss, turnover rose 12.6% to a staggering £50.3million.

This year the company recorded a loss of £1,006,000, which was down from the £1.5million in the previous year.

The man in charge, chief exec Stuart Gillies insists the firm is pleased with the results and even has plans to open new restaurants in the UK and abroad this year.

In the directors’ report, he said: “The consolidated turnover for the group is £50.3million with like-for-like sales growth and new restaurant sales providing a substantial increase in turnover of 12.6 per cent.

"This increase reflects the improved performance of the UK restaurants and the development and opening of restaurants overseas.

"The group has also improved cost control over the year. The operating loss is Pounds 1 million compared to a loss of Pounds £1.5million in 2014.”

Meanwhile, Gordon was forced to pull out of this weekend’s Soccer Aid match after injuring his Achilles tendon.

The father-of-four is currently recovering in hospital following the incident.

“Surgery went well, thank you all for your support and kind messages,” he wrote alongside a picture of himself in a hospital bed.
