Gordon Ramsay's secret friendship with Gigi Hadid is 'the only reason his kids talk to him'

Gordon Ramsay has revealed that his surprising new celebrity BFF is Gigi Hadid - and it’s winning him major cool points with his kids.

The sweary chef, 54, met supermodel Hadid, 25, while they were filming MasterChef Celebrity Showdown together in 2016, and have stayed in touch.

Ramsay told People magazine: "My daughters, they love me. It's not because I'm a f***ing good chef. They love me because I talk to Gigi Hadid. That's the only reason why they want to talk to me.”

The Hell’s Kitchen star has five children with his wife Tana, aged between 22 years and 19 months old.

Explaining more about what he and Hadid have to talk about, he said: “Gigi sent me this [pasta] dish a couple of weeks back on Instagram and said, 'Chef, what do you think?' And I said, 'Girl, it's good. In fact, it's f***ing good.'"

Ramsay’s household has been a busy one this year as the family quarantined together during the coronavirus pandemic.

He said that the experience had improved their bond, and felt like having 10 family holidays all at once.

Chef Ramsay said: "We've laughed, we've cried, we've fallen in love, we've fallen out of love, and we came out of it so much stronger together. There's a level of closeness like we've never had before."

Hadid gave birth to her first child in September, a daughter with her partner and former One Direction star Zayn Malik.

The pair had spent the pandemic isolating on a rural farm in Pennsylvania while they waited for their daughter to arrive and Hadid recently sent a message of congratulations to Malik’s sister Waliyha, whose wedding they had to miss.

Meanwhile, Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip - Ramsay’s TV show with Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix - has just been commissioned for two more series, as well as Christmas specials.
