Gospel hall demolition plan to clear site for new homes
A gospel hall could be demolished to make room for new homes in a Conwy village. Huw Jones has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking planning permission to demolish the existing Gospel Hall and Meeting Room of the Evangelical Fellowship on Mill Road, Llanfairfechan.
The work is yet to start on the vacant building, but if agreed the applicant wants to build six new homes. According to the application form, neighbours are yet to be consulted. Welsh Water said capacity existed in the local sewerage system to receive domestic foul-only flows.
But the water board also said no surface water from an increase in the size of the roof or impermeable surfaces should be allowed to drain into the public system. The plans will likely be approved or refused by the delegated authority of planning officers or debated at a future planning committee meeting.
