Chelsea are reportedly interested in Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, as they look to sustain their title challenge over the course of the season.

Wilson, 26, was yesterday called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate after a brilliant start to the season, having scored seven goals in 13 appearances so far. Chelsea are on the lookout for a new striker after Maurizio Sarri identified the area as a weakness in the squad.

Alvaro Morata has struggled in front of goal for the best part of a year now, but recent goals against Crystal Palace could be indications that his confidence is returning. However, with his confidence low, and Olivier Giroud lacking ruthlessness in front of goal, Sarri is looking to add competition to his squad.

Chelsea had been linked to Inter Milan striker Mauri Icardi, and Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek, but the Sun state that they are too expensive for the club. The paper also suggests that £35 million will be enough to sign the Bournemouth man. That seems exceptionally cheap for a player whose goals could keep his current club in the Premier League for another season, and who would not need to adjust to life in England.

City scout 14-year-old striker

Fernando Ovelar made the news last week when he opened the scoring for his Cerro Porteno side against arch rivals Olimpia in the Paraguayan Superclasico. Two months shy of his 15th birthday, he became one of the youngest goalscorers of all time, something which had attracted the attention of Premier League champions Manchester City, who had a scout in the ground to watch the action.

City have no need to rush his arrival to England, with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus perhaps the best pair of strikers at any club in the league, and they might be able to propose signing Ovelar now, but leaving him at his current club for two years before any move, the Mirror report.

West Ham want Samir Nasri

Former Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri could soon be back in the Premier League, the Mirror also report. Nasri joined Sevilla on loan before switching to Antalyaspor last season on a permanent deal. That contract was cut short a month before he received an 18-month ban for receiving an intravenous drip in 2016, which contravened doping regulations.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is struggling with injuries, to Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere, and could use some cover provided by the signing of 31-year-old Nasri, but they are not the only club who want him. Everton boss Marco Silva is keen according to the Mirror, as he looks to add some playmaking guile to his squad.

Sevilla look at bargain Moreno

Alberto Moreno joined Liverpool from Sevilla in 2014, but discussions over a new contract have stalled, and he will be available for nothing at the end of the season. His former club are monitoring the situation according to ESPN, and were rumoured to have been offered the chance to sign him in January, something Liverpool denied. Nevertheless, with Andrew Robertson installed as first choice, Moreno appears to be on his way out of the club.
