Normally we'd all be knee deep in the latest series of Game of Thrones by this time of the year, but unfortunately we are going to have to wait to get our fix of swords and sexy time.

Well, Ser Jorah Mormont has told us to be patient, and if there's anyone who knows a thing or two about waiting an awfully long time, it's him.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ser Jorah (or rather, actor Iain Glen) said: "I wrote to Dan (Weiss) and David (Benioff) and I said I thought they were the best seven episodes they've ever written."

Any hints as to why the episodes are so good, Ser Iain?

"The story is going toward a conclusion," he added. "There's no sense of treading water. You have storylines colliding. And the evolving drama and relationships are as good as they have ever been.

"It definitely feels like the beginning of the end game."

About bloody time, we say.

The actor remained coy about what we could expect from this series, except that Ser Jorah's storyline would be "about whether he will survive this horrendous sickness he's contracted".

If our favourite friend-zoned knight does bite the bucket this season, he "would die a happy man if he could get forgiveness from Daenerys", according to Iain.

"His loss of life is not as big for him as seeking her redemption."
