Gotham co-stars Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie are expecting their second child.

The Deadpool actress shared the news on Friday's episode (December 11) of The Talk as she presented her growing baby bump.

Baccarin made the reveal when she was asked about an Instagram photo of McKenzie, who had been covered in jewellery and had his nails polished by their 4-year-old daughter Frances Laiz.

"Look, times have changed. What we now call date night is being able to take a walk outside together," said Baccarin. "Ben very cleverly found a way to get them involved by asking Frances to help him get ready for the date.

"I don't think he was expecting the blue nail polish and the bracelets and everything, but I think it looks good on him."

The actress then stood up to reveal her baby bump, saying: "I think that date was pretty successful."

This will be Baccarin's third child and the second for Mckenzie. Baccarin also has a 7-year-old son from her previous relationship with director Austin Chick.

The couple have been married since June 2017, having held a private wedding ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn, New York.

Elsewhere, Baccarin recently defended Deadpool 2 over giving her character Vanessa less screen time, saying it felt like an "emotionally pivotal role".

"I can understand that people felt that way and I certainly was disappointed that I didn't have more to do, because I just loved the part so much," she told ComicBook.com, while promoting new action thriller Greenland.

"But in watching the film and reading the script, it felt like such an emotionally pivotal role in the film and the entire arc of his character in the film is set into motion because of what happens to my character.

"It felt that I was very involved in the movie even though I didn't have a lot of scenes."
