Gove 'absolutely determined' to meet 300,000 homes target

The Government is set to water down housebuilding targets after "well over 100 Tory MPs" threatened to rebel over planning reform. In a letter to MPs on Monday, Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove said the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill would be amended to abolish mandatory housebuilding targets. Speaking on Monday evening, Mr Gove said: "It's a manifesto commitment to build 300,000 homes and it's one we're absolutely determined to meet.".
