A series of pop-up vaccination clinics are coming to Dorset to help give public health a winter boost.

With the recent cold weather, viruses such as COVID-19 are still spreading and health chiefs are urging people to top up their immunity.

If you are eligible for an autumn/winter vaccination but have yet to receive one, there are lots of opportunities to grab a jab at a location nearby.

The autumn/winter booster programme for COVID-19 ends on Sunday, February 12– after that, jabs will no longer be available for the remainder of the winter.

As well as larger sites at Bridport Hospital and the Linden Unit in Weymouth, the Dorset vaccination service is running a series of smaller, pop-up clinics over the next few weeks.

You can find out which doses you’re eligible for, and when and where you can grab them, on Dorset HealthCare’s vaccination service web page.

You can walk in to any open clinics to grab your jab or book via the National Booking System.

Dorset vaccination programme clinical lead Dr Ravin Ramtohal said: "With COVID-19 still hanging around, I urge anyone eligible for their winter booster who is yet to get the vaccine to attend a clinic this January or February.

"Topping up your immunity will help you to avoid feeling really poorly if you catch the virus, so you can stay well during these colder months."
