Graham Potter has already sent Manchester United manager message as Erik ten Hag pressure mounts
Graham Potter has said he is ready to return to football management as Erik ten Hag's Manchester United future remains uncertain.
The Englishman was brutally sacked as Chelsea manager after seven months in charge. Potter was lured from Brighton & Hove Albion following an impressive stint at the AMEX Stadium, becoming Todd Boehly's first managerial appointment. A whopping £323million was spent in the January transfer window, but Potter was on the managerial chopping block after 12 wins and 11 defeats in 31 games in the dugout.
United face a decision after Tottenham Hotspur handed them a third Premier League defeat of the season - leaving them in 12th and six points off the Champions League places after six matches. Bruno Fernandes was shown a straight red card in the first-half for a foul on James Maddison, leaving Ten Hag's side with a mountain to climb after falling behind after three minutes.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Potter said: "It still has to be the right thing, but I’m excited for it. I’m excited to hear what the opportunities are and I’ll take each one and judge it on its merits.
"International management is a different rhythm and there are pluses for that. It’s more intense when it’s on, but you’ve got a bit more breathing space in between.
"It’s nothing that I’ve ruled out, but at the same time I do like the day-to-day bit of working with the players and being in at the club and trying to build and make a difference."
United began their search for Ten Hag's successor before the FA Cup final in May, but their win over Manchester City handed the Dutchman a lifeline, and he signed a new contract until 2026 in July.
