The 64th Annual Grammy Awards nominations have been revealed, with Brits Ed Sheeran and Arlo Parks among the stars recognised.

Abba also received their first ever nomination for their single “I Still Have Faith In You” which is up for Record of the Year.

Sheeran will be battling for the Song of the Year accolade with his hit Bad Habits.

Also featuring in this category are Olivia Rodrigo with Drivers License, Lil Nas X with Montero (Call Me By Your Name) and Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever.

Meanwhile, British singer Arlo Parks received two nominations, for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album with Collapsed in Sunbeams.

Londoner Parks is up against Arooj Aftab, Jimmie Allen, Baby Keem, Finneas, Glass Animals, Japanese Breakfast, The Kid Laroi, Olivia Rodrigo and Saweetie in the Best New Artist category.

Multi-genre performer and recent Oscar winner Jon Batiste scored the most nominations on Tuesday with 11.

Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. each came away with the second-most nominations with eight.

Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo both had seven nods.

Rivals Drake and Kanye West will fight it out in the Best Rap Album category, as well as Tyler, The Creator, Nas, and J. Cole. Kanye’s tenth album Donda is up against Drake’s Certified Love Boy.

For Best Rep Performance, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Megan Thee Stallion were all recognised.

Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Tyler, The Creator, and Kanye West were selected for Best Melodic Rap.

To have been eligible for a nomination this year, a recording must be released between September 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.

That means the likes of British superstar Adele, who has recently her comeback single Easy On Me in October, has just missed out.

Batiste earned an album of the year nod for We Are along with record of the year with Freedom, a feel-good homage to the city of New Orleans.

His nominations span several genres including R&B, jazz, American roots music, classical and music video.

"Oh my goodness. I'm still in a state of astonishment and shock," Batiste told The Associated Press moments after learning of the nominations.

"I'm just really happy that we were able to make something in complete artistic integrity and have it be recognised."

Along with Batiste’s surprise domination, another shock was The Weeknd nabbing three nominations after the pop star claimed he would not allow his label to submit his music.

Earlier this year, he angrily slammed the Grammys, calling them “corrupt” after he received zero nominations despite 2020’s biggest single, Blinding Lights.

Jay-Z, who was nominated for three Grammys on Tuesday, now has the most nominations of all time with 83. The 23-time Grammy-winning rapper moved past Quincy Jones, who has been nominated 80 times.

Recording Academy Chief Executive Harvey Mason Jr. and Tammy Hurt, chair of the academy’s board of trustees were in attendance for the nominations reveal.

The Recording Academy has eliminated nominations review committees this year meaning winners will now be determined by a majority vote from Recording Academy voting members.

There are 88 categories at this year’s awards - with two new ones: Best Global Music Performance (Global Music Field) and Best Música Urbana Album (Latin Music Field).

The music industry’s biggest night is scheduled to take place on in Los Angeles on January 31, 2021 at the Staples Center.
