What happens in series 3?

The third series is all about exploring the world in the hottest cars on the market. Clarkson, Hammond and May get out and about on some on some of the trickiest terrains in the world – and with many laughs along the way.

The show takes them to Georgia, China, Detroit and, erm, Stansted Airport with three specials in Colombia, Nevada and Mongolia. The first of the specials is spread over two episodes starting next week.

Along the way, the guys step out of their cars to take on tough challenges – even battling the snow – and relax with new cultures, taking in the sights.

Any studio segments are once again in a tent, pitched in the Cotswolds, but the third series will be the final time the three bad boys of the road will be holed up in a studio.

Are there any celebrity guests?

Speaking at the launch, Clarkson and the gang revealed that the star-studded episodes are a thing of the past due to their international popularity surging, which means UK celebrities aren’t as much of an appeal.

How can I watch it?

The Grand Tour returns to Amazon Prime weekly from Friday January 18. The series consists of 14 episodes, over 13 weeks.
