The Grand Tour star pops into Falmouth café while filming in Cornwall
TV star James May surprised residents in a Cornwall town by stopping into a local cafe. The Grand Tour host was seen in Falmouth on Friday afternoon (October 11) where he is reportedly filming for a new TV project.
May, 61, has been seen travelling across the South West and was sighted in Devon at the start of this week, with a film crew in tow. As well as stopping to chat with staff at Cafe Mylor in Falmouth, James was also seen in Budleigh Salterton and Brixham in Devon earlier this week.
It is unknown what the TV presenter is currently shooting for, though some locals across the border believe it could be for an upcoming Channel 5 series. Moving away from cars, James will be telling the stories of historical adventurers in 'The Great Explorers with James May'.

In it, he will delve into the remarkable feats of historical figures such as James Cook, Christopher Columbus, and Sir Walter Raleigh, while also confronting the grim realities of their expeditions, including slavery and the spread of disease. Many explorers set off from the South West across the Atlantic.
Sharing their excitement at meeting 'Captain Slow' in person, Cafe Mylor shared on Facebook: "It’s not everyday you get to meet an absolute legend but we did!!
"CAPTAIN SLOW @jamesmaybloke Thank you for letting us interrupt your busy filming schedule to have a chat with us, xx."
James May is no stranger to Cornwall, having embarked on a chaotic camping trip with his fellow Top Gear co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond a decade ago. The trio took a trip to the north Cornwall coast where they created their own motorhomes, drove them to Cornwall and then crashed them off the edge of a cliff - at least, in Clarkson's case.
