Grandfather, 78, beaten through car window by road-rage driver

A retired City broker attacked by a middle-aged road-rage driver today said he is “scarred for life”.

Stuart Emery, 78, was punched repeatedly through the open window of his car in Sidcup.

The grandfather was driving home after dropping his wife Della at a restaurant when he sounded his horn at a driver who pulled out in front of him.

He said the other driver got out when they stopped at traffic lights: “I wound down the window, and then he just started punching me in the face.

"I have never felt pain like it… It was terrifying. I could have died.”

Mr Emery was left with bruises to his arm and face after the attack in Longlands Road at about 7.30pm on July 4.

His assailant was a stocky man in his fifties with grey hair and glasses.
