Grandmother Reunites With Family in Virginia as International Travel Ban Lifted in the US

An emotional reunion took place on Monday, November 8, when a grandmother saw her family for the first time in two years, as the United States lifted an 18-month international travel ban.

This footage, posted to Instagram by @funsauce (real name Frances Poole), shows her running toward her daughter and grandchildren after being apart for over two years.

Poole flew into Virginia’s Dulles International Airport on a flight from Vancouver, British Columbia. The reunion was made more special because she is her daughter’s only parent, Poole told Storyful.

Beginning on November 8, international travelers to the US will be required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to boarding a flight to the US, the Biden administration said. Credit: @funsauce via Storyful
