Yahoo News Grant Holloway and His Girlfriend Celebrated Their 7th Anniversary at the Paris Olympics
Grant Holloway is one of the stars of Team USA's track and field team, competing in the 110m hurdles. In Tokyo, he won silver, and in Paris, he's going for gold. Cheering him on at the Stade de France is his longtime girlfriend, Katie Chronister.
"Not many people can say they are spending their SEVEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY taking a flight to Paris to see their man compete in the Olympic Games…. That is the life you’ve blessed me with, Grant," Chronister posted on Instagram earlier this week. "I have no words. I am the luckiest girl in the world. Thank you for choosing me every single day. Being loved by you will never get old. 19-year old Grant and Katie would be so proud."
Here, get to know Grant Holloway's girlfriend Katie Chronister:
She's from Gainsville, Florida.
Chronsiter grew up in Gainsville, attending Gainesville High School. In 2016, she was named the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year.
She was a pitcher for the University of Florida.
She then went to University of Florida, where she played softball, helping the team acquire three SEC Championships as their pitcher. She graduated with bachelor's degree in health & human performance, and then a master's degree in sports management. During her time at UF, she was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll four times and named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete twice.
After finishing her final game, she said, "When reflecting back, I just think family. I wouldn’t want to end up with anyone else but the girls in the locker room. They are everything to me, and I am just blessed. I know they are going to remember this, and that’s what it is all about —carrying the legacy."
She met Holloway when they were both student athletes.
Both were student-athletes at University of Florida. "Who knew that the boy that lived on the floor above me in Keys Building 10 my freshmen year would become my partner for life," she posted on Instagram for their anniversary a few years ago. "Here’s to many more years of growth, happiness, and humility with you, Grant Holloway."
Chronister works as an Assistant Coach at Santa Fe College.
Currently, she is the Assistant Coach (for pitching) for the Santa Fe College softball team. (The college is located in Gainsville, Florida.) "Being a part of this program brings out my competitive drive to make an impact on these girls, in the hopes that they will leave the program better than they found it for the future group of Saints athletes. I am excited to share my knowledge with these girls with the intention of preparing them for the next level," she said.
She also works as a pitching instructor at Proball Academy in Newberry, Florida.
She's a law school student.
She's set to graduate from UF Law in 2026.
