Staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, applauded as they celebrated their first COVID-19 patient to improve and leave the intensive care unit.
This video, shared on April 2, shows health care workers clapping and cheering as the patient is wheeled down the hallway and brought into another part of the medical center.
The Willis-Knighton Health System said on Facebook that the patient, named Sharon, had been in the intensive care unit and on a ventilator.
“Today Sharon was able to be removed from the ventilator and transferred to another non-critical COVID-19 floor, where she remains on isolation precautions,” the health system said. “[Willis-Knighton] is grateful for her progress and excited to share this positive report.”
