A London man has been charged with attempted murder after 13 people were injured when a car ploughed into a nightclub.

On Saturday night a Suzuki Vitara smashed into a marquee in the smoking area of Blake’s Nightclub in Gravesend before grime star Giggs was due to perform.

Seven people were taken to hospital, three with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to Kent Police.

Mohammed Abdul, 21, of McMillan Street, Deptford has been charged with attempted murder.

He is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court later today.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector David Chewter said: “Many people were injured as a result of the incident but none of their injuries are described as life-threatening or life-changing.

“However, we believe there may be more casualties out there who are yet to come forward and talk to us.

"We would like to hear from them as we continue to build a clear picture of what happened that night.”

The incident is not being treated as terror-related, police said.
