Great British Bake Off in crumbs as bakers collapse, quit, and throw themselves to floor
Two bakers have collapsed and one has quit after chaotic scenes on the Great British Bake Off.
In one of the most dramatic scenes in the show's history, 31-year-old midwife Illyin collapsed to the floor after she struggled in the episode's signature challenge just a week after she earned a Paul Hollywood handshake in the same challenge. As she started to fall, another contestant shouted "Got a medic?"
According to the Daily Mirror, Illyin was put into the recovery position by a medic, and could be heard saying "I just feel dizzy." She later admitted the criticism of her Viennese sandwiches was "gutting". She said: "I knew biscuits were a problem."

Still feeling ill, Illyin left the tent for further medical attention and was not present to see the judging of her showstopper. Instead, Noel Fielding stepped into the role and said, jokingly: "I’ve had nightmares about this.”
Another baker had also declared his decision to quit the contest for good during the technical challenge. Former university lecturer Jeff made a return to the show after illness saw him forced to sit out the first episode.
His return to the tent was met with cheers from his fellow contestants, but the celebration didn't last long. After complaining of feeling "woozy", Jeff announced he had had enough and stunned viewers with an announcement that he was leaving.
He said: "I’ve had enough. I’m done.”
Meanwhile, Presenter Alison Hammond told him: "You tried man. You tried."
