The Great British Bake Off star Jeff has reacted to his “amazing and challenging” experience on the show following his exit.

The star withdrew from the competition in Week Two on Tuesday (October 1) after health concerns – which caused him to miss last week’s episode – left him uncomfortable whilst in the tent.

Following his decision to withdraw from the series, Jeff has penned a note via X/Twitter to fans of the show to thank them for their support, saying it was a “pleasure” to meet the other “incredible” bakers.

The Bake Off has been an amazing and challenging experience of a lifetime,” he began. “Although I was not able to continue for long, I still had the pleasure of meeting all the incredible bakers from Series 15.

“What a wonderful group of people and they were also excellent bakers. The production team are the nicest, most hard working people you will ever come across. They are so supportive and positive. All the very best, always, Jeff with every good wish!”

“This time around, it just wasn’t right for me,” Jeff said in his post-exit interview. “I really enjoyed it. Everybody has been wonderful – there’s a great group of bakers there. I didn’t make it very far, but there you go. It was wonderful, thank you very much.”

Jeff wasn’t the only baker to leave the competition, with Hazel Vaughan being eliminated after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith across the three challenges in Biscuits Week.

“I did expect it – all my bakes have gone wrong. Maybe I won't bake puppet theatres anymore. I'm not crying – they're making me cry!” she said of her exit, referencing her fellow bakers in her closing words.

The Great British Bake Off and its spinoff Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
