Gone is The Great British Bake Off of old, as we officially welcome in the Channel 4 era of new hosts, a new tent and, yes, even new work benches.

But although change can be difficult, we think this particular change is a good one – and we reckon we have the famously colourful (read: garish) Noel Fielding to thank.

In a first look at the inside of the famous Bake Off tent, which you can see right here, it looks like the old pastel blue and green benches have been – gasp – repainted.

Gone are the pale, soothing tones we've come to associate with former judge Mary Berry, and in their place are the brighter hues of lime green, purple and turquoise.

But you know what? We rather like the new look.

While new, it's yet to be seen if the move to Channel 4 will improve the much-loved Bake Off, what with its brand new line-up.

Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will judge the nation's favourite baking competition, while hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding take over from the innuendo-loving Mel and Sue.

Channel 4 has also recently confirmed the new episodes will be 75 minutes long to cater for adverts – as well as revealing that there are two Christmas specials to look forward to.
