Great British Pub Crawl discovers 'hidden gem' location in Birmingham
A man on a quest to visit every pub in the United Kingdom discovered a 'hidden gem' boozer in Birmingham. As part of his latest adventure, Harvey Dale visited 18 Birmingham pubs as part of his 'Great British Pub Crawl' project.
Last month, Harvey visited Kings Norton and Stirchley, describing the latter as an 'incredible' neighbourhood, but this time he visited the city centre on a crawl to remember.
Harvey began his Birmingham journey at The Station with the vlogger less than impressed with a 'basic' ales offering. His mood would swiftly change as he described the next pub as the 'true definition of a hidden gem'.

Whilst it might be a 'hidden gem' for some, The Victoria is a beloved Birmingham establishment for many. The Nottingham YouTuber was impressed with the service and selection as much as he was with the design.
He said: "This is the very definition of a hidden gem at its finest and its black gothic external paint job may be enough to put some off but it's absolutely lovely inside and has a banging selection of cask ale and keg offerings. Gorgeously furnished, friendly service and an all round great pub."
Next up was The Keg & Grill and Harvey described the desi pub as 'well worth a visit' with an 'amazing menu'. Birmingham favourite Cherry Reds would receive similar praise as 'a banging little place' with a selection 'that will make anyone happy'.
Moving from independent bar to popular chain, Harvey popped into Brewdog for a quick beer with 'friendly staff and good vibes'. Bonehead would soon follow with the bar described as a 'belter' with a 'top notch' atmosphere.
At some point, the mood was bound to change and Harvey would express disappointment with The Railway. Describing the pub as 'generic with no ales on offer', Harvey called staff 'friendly', despite the selection.
It wasn't the last boozer in Birmingham to receive praise, The Stable would be next in the hot seat and Harvey noted that the service was 'great'. It wasn't all beer on the day out, Caribbean & Cocktails served Harvey a 'pleasantly surprising' £12 pina colada although he claimed 'it was a little overpriced'.
Back to beer, Harvey visited The Craven Arms next and praised the 'superb' Black Country Ales boozer as somewhere 'one hundred per cent worth visiting'. Gas Street Social received similar positivity as 'the look of a high end establishment without the pretentious vibe'.
The content creator would further enjoy a 'top notch' cocktail at Aluna and found a 'gem of a place' at Canalside Bar. Located nearby the ICC, the Prince of Wales was complimented as 'a lovely old school pub'.
Ending his night on Broad Street, the Solomon Cutler was noted as a 'modern feeling Wetherspoons' and the Figure of Eight was praised for having 'really good guest ales'.
The next day, the YouTuber visited the London & North Western which BirminghamLive and Prince William have both visited this month. Although not much was said about the Grand Central Wetherspoons, after 18 pubs and bars, the crawl seemed an eventful day out in the Second City.
A WMP spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old man from Birmingham has been charged with affray, after we were called to reports of disorder at a bar on Broad Street in the city in the early hours of Friday 10 January. Three men were arrested in total, two have been released on bail while our investigation continues."
