Great North Run 2024 celebrities including Geordie Shore stars and Traitors icon
The Great North Run is an event known for attracted a celebrity or two to its course and this year will be no different, with a whole host of famous faces getting their trainers on to take part, from a Traitors icon to two well known Geordie Shore stars and a legend if women's football.
Since launching in 1981, the Great North Run has been big hit with celebs, who can forget when Kevin Keegan ran in a half Newcastle/half Sunderland strip as he took on the 13.1 mile race from Newcastle to South Shields, with several other footballers following in his footsteps, including ex SAFC stars Michael Gray and Kevin Phillips following in his footsteps.
TV personalities are also rather fond of a crack at the GNR too, with BBC news presenter Sophie Raworth doing it on numerous occasions and soap actors Danny Miller and Peter Ash taking part in 2023.

Well now, as tens of thousands of others get stuck into their last bit of training ahead of the Sunday, September 8, the identities of this year's celebrity runners have been confirmed, with a North East business icon and TV favourite running for the second year in a row and being joined by THREE stars from series 2 of BBC smash The Traitors.

Steph Houghton - North East footballer and former England star
Diane Carson - iconic contestant from The Traitors series 2
Ross Carson - like his mum, Ross was also on The Traitors series 2
Evie Morrison - another Traitors star from earlier this year, Evie reached the final five
Isabel Hodgins - known to millions of ITV viewers for playing Victoria in Emmerdale
Lost Voice Guy - Britain's Got Talent winner and popukar North East comedian
Dr Alex George - former Love Island star turned Lorraine guest GP
