Greater Anglia train lines blocked at Shenfield due to fallen tree with cancellations expected amid Storm Eowyn
A tree has fallen on overhead electric wires near an Essex railway station resulting in the lines blocked and some trains cancelled. The tree has fallen on wires at Shenfield station near Brentwood and is affecting services between Essex and London. It comes as Essex has been placed under a yellow weather warning for wind and rain during Storm Eowyn.
The Greater Anglia lines between London Liverpool Street and Braintree, Southend Victoria and Colchester are affected by the incident. Greater Anglia has advised trains running through Shenfield are disrupted due to a tree falling on the overhead electric wires.
Network Rail teams are en route to fix the issue but it is not yet known how long it will take. Three services between London Liverpool Street and Colchester and Southend have already been cancelled up to 2.13pm.

London Liverpool Street - Southend Victoria
London Liverpool Street - Braintree
London Liverpool Street - Colchester Town
London Liverpool Street - Clacton on Sea
London Liverpool Street - Ipswich & Norwich
Elizabeth Line are accepting Greater Anglia tickets between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street. c2c are accepting Greater Anglia tickets between London Fenchurch Street and Southend Central.
A Greater Anglia spokesman said: "An update will follow within the next 1 hour. Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption. Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled."
