Greater Perth Threatened by Wooroloo Bushfire

Dramatic footage from Perth, Western Australia, shows strong winds spreading the massive Wooroloo bushfire, which had destroyed more than 70 homes by February 3, officials said.

Footage shared by the Rockingham Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service show sparks flying as strong winds carried flames in the “incident zone” at Wooroloo on Monday night, February 1. Flames exacerbated by hot and dry conditions had engulfed nearby homes and trees.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services in Western Australia said 220 firefighters were on the ground and aerial efforts were employed by state agencies.
