Michael and Jowita have been crowned the winners of this year's The Greatest Dancer.

The ballroom and Latin dancers took away the £50,000 prize money and the opportunity to dance on this year's Strictly Come Dancing, with the win leaving the pair shocked and speechless.

From Broadway all the way to the circus, this year's final was a competitive display of choreography and individuality, so the champions had some tough competition to face.

Oti Mabuse's duo were up against Matthew Morrison's act Harrison Vaughan, Todrick Hall's dance group Dancepoint, and Cheryl's pick Lily and Joseph.

For the first section of the final, each act performed a routine with their Dance Captain to whittle it down to the top three.

The act in fourth place and first to be voted off were Dancepoint, whose Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter's Tea Party-themed spectacular wasn't enough for them to make the final three.

Following that vote-off, the remaining three performed their favourite routine of the competition so far.

Lily and Joseph did their stunning audition routine, which left both dancers and their Dance Captain Cheryl very emotional.

The judges were very impressed by the pair's professionalism and maturity in their dancing, and Oti told the duo that "you have impeccable floor craft" and said they were "small but so mighty".

Then, Michael and Jowita performed their Monte Carlo routine from week three which was just as stunning as their first performance, with Matthew commenting that the couple had the "combination of power and grace".

Finally, Harrison brought his iconic audition contemporary piece back, in full circus clown make-up, which had all judges on their feet and admitting he was the act they all fought over – praise indeed.

Oti said the performance "had me on the edge of my seat and I felt I was up there dancing with you", with Matthew adding that it "has been an honour to be your dance captain".

But when the winners were finally announced Jowita said: "I don't know what to say. I'd love to thank all of you guys for voting and thank you, Oti, so much for giving us the opportunity."
