Greg James takes heartbroken fan to Brits after her boyfriend dumped her before Valentine’s Day

Greg James proved he is the nicest man in radio after he took a heartbroken listener to the Brit Awards.

The BBCR1 DJ surprised the lucky listener after she was dumped by her boyfriend the day before Valentine’s Day.

In a bid to cheer her up James offered to take Katie to the glitzy ceremony for a night of VIP treatment.

Documenting the wild night on his Instagram, James shared snaps throughout the evening showing the pair looking excited ahead of the ceremony and then taking a seat at a table on the floor with the other VIPs.

As the night escalated the duo partied on Critic’s Choice winner Sam Fender’s bus into the early hours with James admitting he’s “more drunk” than Katie, adding that she is “supposed to be more drunk.”

The duo just made it back in time to host the Breakfast Show with a “happy hangover.”

James looked worse for wear as he shared a selfie in the studio bright and early.

He captioned the post: “A happy but hungover ending for Katie. We invited her to the Brits to take her mind off her recent breakup...then she co-hosted the show this morning. We survived! Just.”

Earlier this week fans were left fearful if James would even make it to the ceremony after he was locked in BBCR1’s escape room for over 30 hours.

After a series of riddles and puzzles, James cracked the code which was tied to his love for celebrity chef Ainsley Harriot.

The presenter looked ecstatic when he was finally allowed to leave the confined space, and was greeted by fireworks and flashing lights upon his exit.
