Greg Taylor the standout of inside Celtic documentary as team talk king trolls Rangers and fans beg for one thing

Greg Taylor has had Celtic fans in stitches with his behind the scenes antics - with the Parkhead fans now desperate to see the star pen a new deal.

Taylor has made himself one of the first names on the team sheet for both Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers as they secured three consecutive Scottish Premiership crowns - and a documentary released by the Hoops has now shown his behind the scenes presence at Celtic Park. The Scotland international was a dressing room leader during last season's successful title surge - and the punters have lapped up a swipe at Rangers after the title was secured.

The 5-0 thumping of Kilmarnock put an end to the title challenge from Philippe Clement's men as Celtic racked up their 12th success in 13 years - with the party atmosphere starting on the pitch and continuing onto the bus before returning to the Celtic Way to soak up the plaudits of the Parkhead support. And Taylor couldn't resist the chance to noise up their rivals on the journey back from Rugby Park.

After becoming a Premiership champion once again, he echoed Aiden McGeady's infamous dressing room wind-up of the Light Blues following the 2008 title win - their third in a row at the time. Staring directly into the camera, he said: "Three in a row. Sorry."

The release of the documentary follows Rodgers conceding that a new deal for the 26-year-old was a "priority" - with Taylor free to speak to clubs from January over a free exit. Asked about the future of the defender before the clash with Hearts: "I really hope that we can get something organised on that. He's a fantastic player for us, how he makes that position work, how we want it to look, he's first class

"He knows we really want him to stay and hopefully between his representatives and the club, we can organise that because he is a player that I really rate. I've seen him grow here from the outside looking in and obviously having the chance to work with him now for over a season.

"I really like everything about Greg. I love his personality, I love his spirit, I love how he plays the game of course. He plays the game like a midfield player coming from that outside position in, so he really makes it difficult for the opposition.

"He's technically strong for what we could say smaller in stature, he competes in his duels, he wins headers, so he does a lot of really good things in games which I really like and really appreciate. I really hope that we can tie him down in this period now. That would be a real priority for us to try and get something sorted for him."

Fans have been quick to tell the boss how they feel on social media, with one posting to X: "Lifetime contract immediately." Another added: "Great player never lets us down. Get him signed up."
