Gridlock on key road into Chester as two fire engines called to smash
Police and two fire engines were called to a key road into Chester - which sparked gridlock. And officers sent to the A483 through Pulford yesterday (November 16) say along with a smash there were two breakdowns at the same time.
Meanwhile fire crews sent to the collision had to use 'specialist equipment' to move one of the vehicles involved while crews mopped up fluid left on the carriageway. While emergency services were dealing with the crash in the Pulford area, two vehicles also broke down between Rossett and the Posthouse roundabout.
The trio of incidents sparked 'heavy congestion' on the northbound carriageway. The smash occurred just after 8am on Saturday morning with fire crews from Chester and Powey Lane sent to the scene.

"They also used specialist equipment to move one of the vehicles to enable police to reopen one of the affected carriageways."
During the height of incidents officers with North West Motorway Police had urged drivers to 'avoid the area if al all possible'.
