Sunshine and warmer-than-usual October weather have been predicted for Grimsby and the surrounding towns in northern Lincolnshire.

Grimsby has an average maximum temperature of 14.11C and an average low of 7.60C in October, according to the Met Office. Temperatures are expected to reach 16C next week which means we can look forward to a period of mild weather.

After a rather wet and windy weekend, the weather should be more settled from Monday. The week begins with clear skies and a less than 5% chance of rain.

There have recently been speed restrictions on the Humber Bridge due to gusts of wind exceeding 40mph. High-sided vehicles were also prohibited from crossing due to gusts on Sunday.

But Monday, while still breezy, is predicted to have weaker gusts with maximum speeds of 29mph from 8am onwards. On Tuesday and Wednesday, The Met Office claims temperatures could be as high as 17C, although 16C is more likely. Temperatures will feel very mild but there may be periods of cloud cover.

Thursday, Friday, and over the weekend will be sunny although there will be periods of cloud cover in the evenings. Giving its forecast for the region, The Met Office said it will be "bright but breezy with scattered cloud and perhaps the odd light shower" although any rainfall is likely to be limited to the north and west.

It added there will be "plenty of bright spells through this period" and winds would be "lighter than in recent days, though perhaps becoming breezy on Wednesday".
