If there is one Christmas movie that has stood the test of time, it’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The animated TV short came out in 1966, followed by the wildly beloved 2000 film starring Jim Carrey. If either of those speak to your holiday spirit-loving heart, then you’ll go just as crazy over Department 56’s The Grinch Village as we are.

The Grinch films are so catchy to begin with because of the bright colors and quirky designs throughout the town, wardrobe, and, yes, that hair. Those eye-catching details are included in the village, so you can get the whimsical buildings, like Cindy Lou Who’s house, Pancake House, and Flue Who’s Fireplace Place to begin the decorating process.

No Grinch village could possibly be complete without the small-hearted creature himself. There’s the grumpy version when The Grinch is standing on Mount Crumpet, and the mischievous version when he loads up a sleigh with presents from under the tree, and the warm version where his heart grows three sizes and he enjoys Christmas Day.

The pieces — which are made out of porcelain or resin, depending on the item — are available on Amazon. They’re sold separately, so you can build your Whoville with exactly what you want or just get a few to add to your existing Christmas village. Either way, we can tell The Grinch is going to be a big hit among any family this season!

Since each piece stands out in a different way, there’s a great range in prices for each one. You can get the more accessory-type pieces for as low at $20, but the larger buildings can average around $80. It’s not a bad idea to pick a few you can’t live without this year and add to it as a holiday tradition. Better yet, add them to your Christmas list and watch them pour in!
