Gritters being sent out in snow-hit Gloucestershire as temperatures to fall below zero
Snow continued to fall in Gloucestershire throughout Tuesday (November 19) and council gritter lorries have been brought into action. The fleet grit-spreading vehicles first went out at 5.30am as the wintry weather brought tricky driving conditions to the county.
They will be deployed once again during Tuesday afternoon and during the night as temperatures are set to go below freezing once again. The cold snap is set to continue until the weekend, when overnight lows will climb to 8C.
Tuesday into Wednesday will see lows of -2C in parts of the Cotswolds. No more snow is forecast for the county in the latest localised forecasts, with the white stuff due to stop falling mid-afternoon.

On X, Gloucestershire County Council's highways team said: "Our gritters were out from 5.30am this morning and will be gritting again this afternoon and during the night. Please drive with extra care during the cold weather and park considerately to allow the gritters to pass."
Overnight temperatures on Wednesday could be down to -3C and -2C on Thurday, with daytime highs of between 2C and 3C. By Saturday, highs of 13C could be recorded and lows of 6C.
Earlier today, Gloucestershire police posted a picture of a car that had been involved in a collision, which they said was related to the conditions. Motorists have been urged to take care on the roads in the wintry weather.
