Gritters out in Plymouth as freezing weather hits
Gritters are set to hit the roads of Plymouth tonight (Tuesday, November 19) as temperatures drop. Plymouth Highways said primary routes will be gritted across the city from 8pm.
The mercury has dropped in Plymouth and across the wider region in recent days. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a yellow cold weather health alert for the South West.
The alert is in place until 6pm on Saturday (November 23) with officials warning that conditions could be dangerous for vulnerable people, including the elderly. Motorists have also been urged to be careful on the roads due to the risk of ice.
