Groundbreaking for Rea Park clubhouse renovation is Monday

Mar. 13—Groundbreaking ceremonies for Rea Park's historic 1925 clubhouse renovation will take place Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the park.

Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun will be speaking, along with individuals representing the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department, Friends of Rea Park and project architect Dean Sanders. Terre Haute South High School's marching band will perform.

Following the groundbreaking, there will be a reception with light refreshments in the main hall of the clubhouse.

This will be one of the last times the original building can be visited, as the renovation will begin. The renovation project is expected to last 18 months. A re-dedication ceremony is planned for the fall of 2025.

Rea Park is at 3500 S. Seventh St., Terre Haute.
