There are "growing concerns" for the welfare of an Airdrie teenager who has been missing for five days.

John Paul was last seen in the town at around 6.30am on Saturday, November 2.

He is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair with a long fringe.

When last seen, the 16-year-old was wearing a black Nike fleece, black Nike tracksuit bottoms and white Nike Airforce trainers.

Sergeant Graham Reid told Lanarkshire Live: "John also has links to Glasgow and areas of Aberdeen, where he might have travelled by public transport.

"We are becoming increasingly concerned for John Paul’s welfare.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information which could be relevant to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2914 of November 2."
