We've had our first trailer for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, but among the characters we were still yet to see was Kurt Russell's character Ego the Living Planet.

Well, Funko has released two toys (Pop! and Dorbz versions) that reveal the look the Thing actor will be sporting in Marvel's next MCU outing.

(Warning: Contains spoilers about Russell's character – if you've somehow managed to avoid them.)

Russell's character has been revealed as the father of Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, who he will meet for the first time in the sequel.

Ego was reportedly seen in the unreleased Comic-Con footage last year, and the toys confirm that he will, at least at some points in the film, appear in human form rather than as a giant planet with a beard.

Funko has also released a toy of Elizabeth Debicki's Ayesha, the main villain of the film, and another character who was not spotted in the Guardians 2 trailer.

Ego's human form actually bears a resemblance to the alien ruler J'son of Spartax, who is Star-Lord's father in comics continuity.

Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Michael Rooker will be back for the new film, alongside newcomers Sylvester Stallone and Pom Klementieff.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will be released in the UK on April 28, and in the US on May 5.
