Guardians director reveals when Vol 3 is coming
Avengers: Infinity War is so close we can almost smell it, where we'll see our next glimpse of The Guardians of the Galaxy. They'll be back for Avengers 4, but now James Gunn has told us when we can expect the next standalone movie for Star Lord and the gang.
Replying to a question on Twitter, where a user asked "Is there going to be a Guardians of the Galaxy 3?" James Gunn responded with an unequivocal "Coming in 2020".

This would put Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 in the early stages of Marvel Phase 4 – after Spider-Man: Homecoming's sequel, which is due in 2019.
Gunn has said that the film will serve as the "epic conclusion" to the story he began in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. He said that the movie will bring to an end the current "iteration" of the team, adding: "Who knows who will take up the mantle after that?"
This won't mean the end of the Guardians – more that it looks like there could be spin-offs and standalones on the way. Gunn has already hinted that there could be a Ravagers movie some day, as well as the story of Rocket's "horrible origin".
The movie will be set at least four years after the events of Guardians 2, as well as after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, in which the team will feature.
But who will survive and what be left of them after Avengers 4? Only time with tell.
Avengers: Infinity War is released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018 and in US cinemas on May 4, 2018. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is coming in 2020.
