Guests recovering from Princess Eugenie's Royal Wedding reception as gift bags are already being auctioned off

As Princess Eugenie, new husband Jack Brooksbank and their guests were recovering from the Royal Wedding celebrations, gift bags from the big day were already being listed online.

Several of the burgundy fabric bags, embossed in gold with the letters E and J, the date and venue which were given to the members of the public who had been invited inside the grounds of Windsor Castle, were already up for sale just hours after the pair tied the knot on Friday.

The bags contained an order of service, a Windsor Castle chocolate coin, a commemorative fridge magnet, chocolate chip shortbread, a poncho and a can of natural spring water and some were listed for hundreds of pounds.

One seller, listing their bag for £50, described it as a “chance to buy your very own piece of British royal history and memorabilia”.

Another, asking for bids of £200, said it was a “very rare collectors item for those who love the British Royal Family and British Royal Weddings”.

Gift bags from the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May were also offered for sale online, with some auctions fetching more than £1,000.

At the time, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute said that such transactions are private sales between consumers, so are not covered by trading standards.

Meanwhile, the Royal couple were starting married life after parting with some of the famous faces spotted at their big day.

After a wedding breakfast at Windsor Castle, the couple reportedly held a fairground-themed evening reception, complete with dodgems, in a marquee decorated with autumnal flowers.

Unlike Meghan Markle, Eugenie didn’t change into a second dress for her reception, sticking to the gown she tied the knot in.

MailOnline reported that the drinks menu was specially curated by Jack Brooksbank and included tequila, while Robbie Williams – who also attended the ceremony with wife Ayda Field – gave an impromptu performance of some of his greatest hits.

Many of the guests in the evening had been spotted earlier in the day and included Demi Moore, Chloe Delevingne, Made in Chelsea’s Oliver Proudlock and fiancee Emma Louise Connolly.

Austrian fashion stylist Caroline Sieber shared a picture of herself in front of the impressive floral display, while Phones4U founder John Caudwell, who reportedly flew to Windsor by helicopter for the celebrations, shared a selfie with Robbie Williams and Ayda Field.

The party was expected to continue on Saturday with the couple reportedly hosting a festival-style event complete with a fairground rides and food stalls.

The Palace has reportedly said that the Queen and the Duke of York have paid for Eugenie and Jack’s three wedding parties from their own funds.
