Guns N' Roses Coachella Reunion Confirmed

Guns N' Roses Coachella Reunion Confirmed

Axl Rose has confirmed that Guns N' Roses are reuniting to headline at this year's Coachella festival in California.

Although the hard rock band never broke up, lead vocalist Rose has been the only original member left in the band since bassist Duff McKagan and guitarist Slash left in the 1990s.

It is the first performance date to be officially announced by the revived band, whose songs include Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain.

Rose tweeted: "Ok,ok ... It's "confirmed! Guns N' Roses is Headlining Coachella 2016!! See Everyone There!!"

Stoke-born Slash and McKagan both posted an image on Twitter and Instagram of the band's classic logo combined with the Coachella background.

The trio have not played a live show together since 1993 and relations between Rose and Slash have long been strained.

However, they reconciled by 2014.

In an interview with Sweden's Aftonbladet, Slash said: "It was probably way overdue, you know ... it's very cool at this point."

It is not clear whether the band will feature the full classic line-up, which also included guitarist Izzy Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler.

LCD Soundsystem and Calvin Harris will each headline the other nights of the festival.

Other artists lined up to perform include Ellie Goulding, Sufjan Stevens, Foals, Disclosure, Chvrches, James Bay and Sia.

The festival takes place over two weekends between 15 and 22 April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
