Thousands of people were without power in multiple counties as high winds buffeted northern New York on Friday, March 20, according to reports.
Local reports said customers in Monroe, Genesee, and Orleans counties were without power on Friday due to damage from wind gusts up to 61 mph.
The National Weather Service warned of severe thunderstorms and the possibility of penny-sized hail and wind up to 60 mph in Potsdam and the surrounding area on Friday.
