A horrified single mother found out her new boyfriend was a paedophile after she Googled his name.

The unidentified woman met Robert Wynn, 30, while playing online games and the pair later began meeting up for family days out with her children.

However, the mum-of-four later found out that her new man had been jailed three times in the past for sex offences when she typed his name into Google.

Wynn has now been jailed again for breaching an order banning him from having any contact with children under 16.

Hull crown court heard the mum knew became attracted to Wynn – who she knew as “Robster” – after he described himself as a “normal lad from Hull,” the city she grew up in as a teenager.

The woman met up with him at a railway station before inviting him back to her house for tea.

He had told her his real name and age but made no mention of his paedophile past, which saw him jailed for 18 months in 2008 for grooming and distributing indecent photographs.

Wynn was jailed for two years at Hull in 2011 for making and possessing indecent photographs of children, possessing extreme pornography, and failing to comply with his notification requirements as a sex offender.

He was made subject to a sexual offences prevention order for ten years, which he breached in 2014 and saw him behind bars for another 16 weeks.

The order bars Wynn from being in contact with children under 16, without the informed consent of a parent or guardian.

Phillip Evans, prosecuting, told the court the mother and Wynn shared family days out but was “keen to point out that the children only became involved when she was ready to introduce them to the defendant”.

He said: ”She had no cause for concern…

“She points out that she had never allowed the defendant to have unsupervised contact with the children.

“She has questioned her children and no disclosures have been made by any of them of improper conduct by the defendant towards them.”

Police found 30 indecent photographs of children on Wynn’s mobile phone after they were alerted to his activities.

David Godfrey, defending for Wynn, said he accepted he should have declared his convictions, and informed his probation officer of the relationship.

He added: ”At some point the penny’s going to have to drop.”

Wynn, of Sutton Park, admitted possessing indecent photographs of children and breaching a sexual harm prevention order and was jailed for 16 months.
