Guy Ritchie Wins Rocco Custody Battle Against Madonna

After the massive falling out between Madonna and her fifteen-year-old son, Rocco, became public in December, a court has ruled that the teen should live with his film director father, Guy Ritchie.

And we’re willing to bet that Madge is not happy.

The former couple have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle ever since Rocco left the singer’s Rebel Heart tour to live with his father in London, with Rocco insisting that Madonna was too strict and didn’t show any interest in his life.

The teen then defied a court order to spend Christmas with his mother, instead staying with Guy, his stepmother and his half-brothers and sisters.

It is reported that neither parent were at the hearing but phoned into the court, with the judge ruling that Rocco is to stay where he is so that he can continue to attend school.

New York Supreme Court judge Deborah Kaplan said: “No one is disrupting this household. The child is in school; let us try to allow him to go forward in the most normal way. We’re not forcing the child to leave school. His mother isn’t asking that.”

According to PEOPLE magazine an attorney speaking on Rocco’s behalf added: “In almost every conversation, he has stressed to me how stressful [the very public custody battle is]. He is going to school now, which is a great step forward, and the parents should be commended that they were able to reach this decision.

“He’s enjoying himself there; he’s having a good educational experience; the school seems to be a great fit for him.”

The custody battle is thought to continue this summer, with a provisional date being set for June 1st.
