Prosecutor Emmalyne Downing told Caernarfon Crown Court the police went to an address to deal with an ongoing incident on May 1. Cyster became irate and was verbally abusive to two female officers so was arrested. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here
But he continued to be abusive in a cell in a police car as he was being taken through Llanrug to Caernarfon Police Station. In police bodyworn camera footage played in corut today Cyster can be heard chanting "Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, Tommy Robinson". Mr Robinson, 41, real name Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, founded the English Defence League.
One officer asks him where his behaviour has come from as he was initially calm. But he heatbutts the cell's perspex screen and starts bleeding, the court heard. Ms Downing said the labour costs alone for repairing and cleaning the cell were £100.
Dafydd Roberts, defending, said his client is sorry and apologises. "He is not proud of the way he behaved that day."
The court heard Cyster was arrested two days after the Southport riots, which followed the killings of three girls in the Merseyside seaside town in July. A potential link between Cyster's behaviour and those riots - when a mosque was targeted - was considered but discounted, said Mr Roberts.
Mr Roberts said Cyster had been frustrated with his dealings with North Wales Police over ongoing issues with his partner or ex-partner.
The judge Her Honour Nicola Saffman noted Cyster broke and shattered the perspex screen which was covered in his blood and saliva. The officers feared for their safety and an asset was then off the road during repairs.
She also noted a probation officer found he has entrenched views about people who are "not of the same race as you". When challenged about his comment that the officer was a "P*** lover" he repeatedly referred to "immigrants coming on boats" and made remarks about Islam.
When the probation officer gave him a chance to say he regretted his remarks he failed to do so, added the judge, sitting at Llandudno Magistrates Court during repairs to Caernarfon Justice Centre. She jailed Cyster for four months for racially aggravated criminal damage.
She said his "deeply entrenched, racially aggravated views" meant he currently cannot be rehabilitated and there has to be a deterrent sentence.
