Gwyneth Paltrow and Dakota Johnson: Chris Martin's ex wife and his current girlfriend celebrate Derek Blasberg

Two’s company for Gwyneth Paltrow and Dakota Johnson. Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow and his current girlfriend Dakota Johnson showed there was none of the usual ex awkwardness when they came together to celebrate fashion journalist Derek Blasberg’s birthday in Los Angeles.

Paltrow and Martin have two kids together – Apple, 14, and Moses, 13, – and Johnson reportedly hangs out regularly with the whole crew.

A source told E!, “Their families hang out often, and they are all very comfortable with each other. Dakota has a great relationship with his kids and with [Gwyneth Paltrow]. Chris loves [Johnson’s] parents and has them over for beach time and parties. Everyone gets along very well.”

The two women have clearly bonded, as they were photographed sitting together with Blasberg at the party, Paltrow with her arm slung around Johnson. Ever witty, Blasberg captioned the photos “Consciously throupling,” in reference to Martin and Paltrow’s split in 2014, which the pair called, “consciously uncoupling.”

“An engagement could definitely be in the cards,” a source told E! News about Johnson and Martin. “They are very much in love and happy.”

Paltrow told The Evening Standard in January that she and Martin have a good relationship. “I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids,” she said. “But our relationship is much better like this: friends and co-parents and family.”

Paltrow’s new husband, director Brad Falchuk, also attended Blasberg's birthday party.
