Gwyneth Paltrow has praised her daughter Apple Martin, crediting her for a 'sense of entitlement' and noting that she is encouraged this attitude will change women's working dynamics in the future.

The Goop founder recently spoke of her 16-year-old daughter during an interview for Adobe's MAX summit about the future of the workplace for women and the ongoing shifts for a more progressive culture and society.

'By the time my daughter is in the workforce, those girls are not going to stand for it,' the mother-of-two explained, according to E! news.

'When I see my daughter with her friends, they are so empowered. They have—and I mean this word in the best possible way—they have a sense of entitlement that's beautiful. It's not spoiled.'

Paltrow clarified that she was describing her daughter and her friends' entitlement in terms of knowing they are equal to men: 'It's like, "No, we are here for what the boys are gonna get, too". I find it very uplifting and heartening that we all seem to be going in this direction together.'

We couldn't agree more. Apple has been making more of an appearance on her mother's social media pages over the past few years and, given the talents of her parents, we're sure it's only a matter of time before the 16-year-old embarks on a career of her own.

Here's everything else to know about Apple...

Who Is Apple Martin's father?

As explained, Apple is Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter. She is also the eldest child of Coldplay frontman, British singer Chris Martin. Paltrow and Martin were married from 2003 to 2014, when they famously announced they were 'consciously uncoupling'. Since then, they have continued to put on a unifying front when it comes to co-parenting both Apple and their son Moses.

The origins of Apple Martin's name...

Apple was born in 2004 - with her unusual name attracting a lot of media fascination at the time.

Contrary to popular opinion, it was Martin who chose the name, Paltrow has since confirmed on multiple occasions. Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in 2004, the Shakespeare In Love actor explained: 'When we were first pregnant, her daddy said, "If it's a girl I think her name should be Apple." It sounded so sweet, and it conjured such a lovely picture for me, you know. Apples are so sweet and they're wholesome, and it's biblical.'

In a 2015 interview with Howard Stern, Paltrow said her daughter 'loves' her name.

Paltrow jokingly reflected on the coverage her daughter's name received in the early Noughties this year when Elon Musk and Grimes revealed their unconventional choice for their child.

'I think we got beat for most controversial baby name,' she told her ex-husband, Martin.

What is Apple Martin's middle name?

Apple's full name is Apple Blythe Alison Martin, with her first middle name in honour of her grandmother, Gwyneth's mother Blythe Danner.

The Meet The Parents actress appeared in a 'three generations' video with her daughter and granddaughter for Goop over the summer:

What age is Apple Martin?

Apple turned 16 in May and as she's got older, fans have noticed the increasing similarity between Gwyneth and Apple:

In an Instagram caption to mark her daughter's sweet 16th, Paltrow captioned the photo: 'You are the light of my heart, you are pure joy. You are wickedly intelligent and you have the best, most dry, most brilliant sense of humour. I have the best time being your mum.'

But it seems the similarity doesn't begin and end with her mother, after previous indications have signalled that she could follow in her father's footsteps. When Martin headlined Glastonbury with Coldplay in 2019, Apple and Moses joined him on stage while Paltrow looked on proudly from the side.

Indeed when Apple was younger, she was often spotted with her mother supporting her dad at his various global concerts, including the 2008 Live 8 concert in London where she was seen in the front row with soundproof headphones.
