Gwyneth Paltrow selling £1,000 tickets for first Goop UK 'wellness' summit

Goop will hold its first UK event next month with tickets available from £1,000, founder Gwyneth Paltrow has announced.

The two-day summit will take place at Re:Centre in Hammersmith, London, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June.

Promising special guests and “eye-opening conversations”, the event will be hosted by the US actor and self-styled lifestyle guru.

Panels and workshops will focus on mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health, while there will also be “health driven” food options from local chefs such as Farmacy and Farm Girl.

Doctors, scientists, entrepreneurs and “boundary-pushing” celebrities are promised, with speakers to be announced shortly.

Self-care stations, a wellness boutique, athleisure shop and a “transformational” workshop with psychotherapist Barry Michels are also included as part of the event.

A weekend package, which includes full access to the event, a Friday cocktail event, meals, a VIP workout session with Tracy Anderson, and a two-night hotel stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy hotel, costs £4,500.

Individual sessions will also be available from £30.

Previous wellness summits have attracted high-calibre attendees such as Jessica Alba, Elle McPherson and Olivia Wilde, but the brand isn’t without controversy.

Last year, the company paid $145,000 in penalties for making “unsubstantiated” marketing claims about jade vaginal eggs.

The eggs promised to improve muscle tone and improve hormone levels – and are still on sale on the brand’s website.

Despite this, Goop’s popularity has continued to flourish, with the brand opening its first UK store in Notting Hill in September 2018.

The company emphasises organic and cruelty-free products, the majority of which are also vegan.
