Hackney Marshes stabbing: Man fighting for life after knife attack at ‘unlicensed music event’

A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed during a suspected unlicensed music event in east London.

Police say they were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 6.54am on Sunday to reports of a stabbing on Hackney Marshes.

A man was found suffering from stab wounds and taken to hospital, police said.

A second man, in his 20s, was found unconscious at the scene and was also rushed to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “The injured male was taken by LAS to an east London hospital. His condition is currently critical.

“A second male, aged 20s, was discovered unconscious nearby.”

It’s believed the two men know each other, the force added.

Hackney Police said on Twitter that the incident was being investigated.

It said: "There are a number of large crime scenes in place on Hackney Marshes and in the woodland following a stabbing at an unlicensed music event last night.”

No arrests have been made.
