Hail and Heavy Rain Cause Closure of Roads and Metro Stations in Rome

Transport was badly affected in Rome, Italy, as roads were flooded and subway stations closed on October 21. Heavy rain, hail and strong winds battered the city, resulting in at least six metro stations being forced to close.

Police responded to several calls of fallen trees and of motorists being trapped by the floodwaters, Il Messaggero reported.
