Hail and Strong Winds Sweep Billings, Montana

Strong wind and hail “larger than a quarter” blew through Billings, Montana, on July 24, as further “shower and thunderstorm chances” were predicted for Monday, July 25, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

This footage was captured by Eric Frank, who said it was filmed in Billings, Montana’s largest city, late Sunday afternoon.

The NWS warned residents of hail the size of ping-pong balls, while social media users recorded hailstones ranging from “marble-sized” to “larger than a quarter” in the area.

On Sunday night, the stormy conditions caused trees and branches to fall in the area, local media reported, while other videos posted on Sunday showed severe flooding. Credit: Eric Frank via Storyful
